A number of new releases make their debut this week including Ogigami Aoko's quirky comedy "Megane", the Japanese release of Tim Story's "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" and Luc Besson's newest kid adventure movie "Arthur et les Minimoys". "Hero" continues to do strong business, staying in the top spot for another week. "Evangelion 1.0" also fought off the competition staying in the top five.

Movies debuting this week in Japan include Olivier Dahan's "La Mome" (in Japan - Edith Piaf: Ai No Sanka/Eulogy; 9/29), Scott Hicks' "No Reservations" (in Japan - Shiawase No Recipe/Recipe for Happiness; 9/29) and Steven Soderbergh's "The Good German" (in Japan - Saraba Berlin/Goodbye Berlin; 9/22).
