The film adaptation of Kimura Takuya's hit 2001 Fuji TV J-Dorama "Hero" debuted at No. 1 this week. Last week's No. 1, "Evangelion: 1.0" still managed to do remarkably well despite just showing on 85 screens. Another new film debuting in the top ten is Asahara Yuzo's latest installment to the popular "Free & Easy" (Tsuribaka Nisshi) comedy series "Tsuribaka Nisshi 18 - Hama Chan, Soo San - Sato No Yakusoku" (Free & Easy - Hama & Soo's Straight of Sato Arrangement) starring Nishida Toshiyuki.

Chan-wook Park's offbeat and quirky "I Am A Cyborg But That's OK" (releasing in Japan as "Cyborg Demo Daijoubu") is set to make its Japanese debut later this month (9/15) as is Chris Noonan's "Miss Potter" (9/15).
