Transvestite martial arts comedy Kung Fu Tootsie is still riding high atop the Thai box office and here comes yet another transvestite comedy looking to dethrone it. Coming from Sahamongkol Film - one of Thailand's largest - The Odd Couple stars Ong Bak's Mum Jokmok as a transvestite performer working with a Japanese cop to find a serial killer preying on the transvestite community. Now, Jokmok can actually be a very good actor when he reins things in a bit - Midnight My Love proved that in spades - but with material like this I expect him to be in full on, over the top, hyperactive mode. As I've said before: nobody will ever accuse Thai comedy of being too subtle. The official website is now online and includes a streaming trailer. Expect to wait about a week for it to load.
