A Trailer For Miyazaki's Largely Unseen IMAGINARY FLYING MACHINES!
Big, big thanks to Peter at Ghibli World for steering us to this excellent bit of news. Back in 2002 animation legend Hayao Miyazaki directed a quartet of new short films for the Ghibli Museum, shorts that have up until now only been available for viewing within the Museum's walls. But not for long. It has just been announced that Japanese airline JAL have purchased rights to a number of Ghibli titles for exhibition on their international flights, among them one of the Museum shorts - Kuso no Sora Tobu Kikai-tachi aka Imaginary Flying Machines. The short is narrated by Miyazaki himself and mirrors the man's long standing fascination with flight.
JAL have just released a trailer for the short online and while I had some difficulty downloading it - I ultimately needed to use a download manager to get it - it's well worthwhile just to see the machine designs.
