Harold and Kumar in Amsterdam

I was surprised with "Harold & Kumar go to White Castle," I mean sure it's a 90 minute ad for a fast food place, but I found it to be genuinely funny, and Kal Penn and John Cho were like an intelligent Beavis and Butthead, while the film really tackled stereotypes, cliches, and political correctness.

Well, good news. For those anxious to see if Harold went to Amsterdam to confront his potential girlfriend (the gorgeous Paula Garces), word has it that the sequel is finally in motion with New Line distributing worldwide.

In the tentatively titled "Harold and Kumar 2," Kumar convinces Harold to travel to Amsterdam to confront Maria, and Kumar is accidentally mistaken for a terrorist. Now they're on the run from the Department of Homeland Security being chased From Guantanamo Bay through the Deep South, in what will surely be a film that explores topics about racial profiling and what not. Though, I hope it's as funny as the first.

Not a lot has happened for the White Castle boys, with Penn being featured in a major role in "Superman Returns" that was edited down to a two minute silent cameo as a thug, and starred in the vehicle "Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj" which flopped hard.

Added and returning cast members include David Krumholtz, Neil Patrick Harris, Rob Corddry, Christopher Meloni, Ed Helms, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Paula Garces, Jack Conley, Roger Bart, Danneel Harris and Eric Winte.

Many fans of the film are curious if we'll have a cameo from Harris confronting his recent confession of being a homosexual, or just avoid it altogether. Though, it should be very interesting to see if NPH is daring enough.

Filming has now begun in Schreveport, LA, with Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who wrote the original "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle," directing the follow-up from their original script.

I look forward to more weed induced adventures and hijinks.
