After what seemed to be a very slow month for Korean DVD releases in February, here's the first major title announced for March. KD Media will release a 3-Disc Director's Cut version of last year's award-winning megahit 말아톤 (Marathon), starring Jo Seung-Woo and Kim Mi-Sook. The film sold over 5 Million tickets in early 2005, and was the fourth top grossing domestic film of the year.

Previous release was quite good, and even had a Limited Edition, but the major selling point of this DVD, beside the new Director's Cut, is 5 HOURS of extras (with some coming from the previous edition, but lots of new ones). DVD Prime just posted the specs:

1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen transfer, Dts/DD5.1 and DD2.0, English and Korean Subtitles (Visually Impaired 'Explanation' track as well), and an audio commentary on Disc 1. Disc 2 (169 Minutes total) has a big Making Of doc, Deleted Scenes, Behind The Scenes, Promotional Material and more, including two shorts by Director Jung Yoon-Cheol. Third Disc (135 Minutes) features the 인간극장 (Human Theater) documentaries about Hyung-Jin, the marathon runner this story was based on, including deleted scenes and NG.

Release is set for March 10, and when pre-orders pop up, we'll let you know.
