Great movies i never want to see again.

Every movielover must have gone through a similar experience. You encounter a movie, it does not matter if you read or heard about it or that you just stumbled upon it, that has it all. But however when the ending has come upon you and the last scenes just unfolded before your eyes, you know one thing for sure.  I will never watch this movie again. And i am not talking about a bad movie, a cheap b-movie or what the hell ever there is wrong about this movie.  That was not just the case. It it simply the fact that you can take in such a movie just once in this viewing life.  Usually this has to do with a complete downbeat ending with no chance of redemption or some lack of catharsis.  On other occassions it can be the harrowing or punishing storyline that a particular picture has in store for you.
Sure, these can be great movies i am talking about, even masterpieces, but not a single cell in your body or mind will let you rewatch this one ever again. As i can only filter through my own viewings of such movies, there is a difference in the interpretation of why you are going to see a certain kind of movie again and again and some only once .
Just to be clear about this, i will mention a few titles. Age or genre are not important, for me these were original pictures and some had a great message built within the storyline.  The Parallax View (1974), The Pledge (20001), Il Grande Silenzio (1968), Kill List (2011), Glory (1989), the Pianist (2002), Eraserhead (1977), No Mercy (2010) and Madeo(2009).

No one has to agree with me on these titles, it is the distinct feeling one gets when such a movie presents itself before your astonished, surprised, gloomy, terrified, dissapointed eyes.  For each and every one of us there are a a couple of movies,  we will never seek out again.
Even if we have the most respect for it and we can freely acknowledge the craftmanship on display. There is this certainty of never go on that particular train again. We will go on a detour or will take another means of transportation, but this ride will not be taken by us.. ever.
Now, what inspired or triggered me to write this piece? Saturday evening i had the luck to watch a very good reviewed asian movie. And well...  it was everything what the reviews told me it would be. However, yeah there is a however.. When the movie was coming to a close i got that certain feeling again, and during the last minutes it only got stronger. "I do not think i am going to rerun this." But in the end this movie, was pretty good, maybe even really very nearly a masterpiece of its own kind. But still it triggered that feeling. Even if it was for a few minutes.

So tell me, did you have the same feeling with certain movies? Are you agreeing with some titles i mentioned here? Which titles
are on your list?

Let's type! Regards an have a good view.
