TORONTO, ON, - After a successful run with films like BITE, ANTISOCIAL and THE DROWNSMAN, Black Fawn Films & Breakthrough Entertainment are excited to release the poster for their latest horror feature film collaboration, THE SUBLET.

Written and directed by John Ainslie (writer of, Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer) and starring Tianna Nori, (The Demolisher, Clean Break), Mark Matechuk, Krista Madison (The Dirties, Project Avalanche) and Rachel Sellan (Silent Hill: Revelation 3D). THE SUBLET is a suspense driven psychological-thriller about Joanna, a new mom struggling with postpartum depression and coping with her baby alone in an odd sublet apartment. Left alone as her husband neglects her for his career, she discovers that the apartment has a violent past. She clings to her sanity as the apartment's blood soaked past leaks into the present.

Produced by Chad Archibald (The Drownsman, Antisocial 2, Bite) Cody Calahan (Bite, Antisocial 2), Christopher Giroux (Bite, The Drownsman), Line Producer James O'Donnell (Antisocial 2, Bite), Supervising Producer Audrey Velichka and Executive Producers Nat Abraham, Tim Brown, Ira Levy, Michael McGuigan and Peter Williamson.

The Sublet will have its European premiere at Razor Reel Film Festival on November 7th and its North American premiere at Whistler Film Festival this December.

I watched The Sublet last night. It is indeed an unnerving and unsettling piece of cinema which rewards with a shocking finale. We may have a full review up at a later date. Word from Ainslie is that we will have a look at the first trailer leading up to these first festival dates.

And while we are on the topic of John Ainslie and the mention of the film he wrote Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer. It is having a revival screening - in 35mm - at the ArcLight Cinema Hollywood as part of the Slamdance Cinema Club Nov. 8th. Fingers crossed that Robert Englund will be in attendance.
