300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE's Sullivan Stapleton To Star In Luc Besson's THE LAKE

Luc Besson has found his new action star according to a report over at Deadline. Sullivan Stapleton, the lucky bastard who went a couple rounds, some more exciting than others, with Eva Green in 300: Rise of an Empire has been cast as the lead in Besson`s upcoming action thriller The Lake. 

He heads the cast in a thriller about a group of Navy SEALs who attempt to solve a long-forgotten mystery while they uncover an immense treasure hidden in a lake in war-torn Serbia.

Besson is producing under his Red production banner. He wrote the screenplay with Richard Wenk (The Equalizer). Steven Quale (the forgettable Into The Storm) will direct the film that begins production in April
