First Image From Adrian Garcia Bogliano's SCHERZO DIABOLICO
The director of ScreenAnarchy faves Here Comes the Devil, Late Phases, Cold Sweat and Penumbra just keeps on churning out quality genre cinema and is one of the leaders of this burgeoning wave of Latin filmmakers. Yeah. We are not jealous at all.
The film stars another ScreenAnarchy regular, Francisco Barreiro (We Are What We Are and Here Comes the Devil), along with Daniela Soto Vell and Cuba's Jorge Molina (Juan of the Dead). The story is about an out-of-work accountant who kidnaps a teenage girl. She proves to be his worst nightmare.
A rough cut of the film screened on Wednesday at Blood Window's Bloody Work in Progress, part of Buenos Aires' Ventana Sur. XYZ Films represents the North American rights for the film and will be on the ground after the rought cut screens at Ventana Sur.
(My frequent flyer miles with XYZ Films are growing. ScreenAnarchy founder and editor Todd Brown is a partner at XYZ Films. He had no say or influence on its posting. I'm just a big fan of Adrian Garcia Bogliano as much as any of us here at ScreenAnarchy are and it turns out they're working together again.)"XYZ was very pleased to work with Adrian [Garcia Bogliano] previously on 'Penumbra' and are convinced he's one of the brightest genre talents in the world today," said XYZ's Todd Brown. "We couldn't be happier to continue our relationship with him on 'Scherzo Diabolico' and can't wait to see the world's reaction to this latest dark opus."
