Dear Duncan Jones, Please Put Pandas In Your WARCRAFT Movie
British director Duncan Jones has been just handed a whopper of a project. Having earned deserved acclaim for his breakout feature Moon, and somewhat positive reactions from some of our own for his follow up Source Code, Mr. Jones has just been tagged to take the helm of the upcoming Warcraft film. This is a pretty big deal for Jones - his biggest project to date -  and one that will surely be scrutinized by the online masses once production begins. In the meantime, I guess Jones will continue on with his Ian Fleming biopic? Borys Kit's exclusive at The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blogs reports:

Legendary is keeping its script, written by Charles Leavitt, under wraps. The Warner Bros.-based production and finance outfit is eyeing a fall 2013 start and a 2015 release.

With an expected release date sometime in 2015, that leaves plenty of time for everyone to return to their parents' basements, speculate which aspects of the Warcraft universe Leavitt and story writer Chris Metzen will include in the film, then commit a few more months to play time. All out of the sun's harsh glare. To be fair to Leavitt, this will be his second foray into fantasy territory, having scripted more serious fare before that. He wrote the screenplay for The Seventh Son, currently in post, a fantasy film about fighting off witches, ghouls and such.
