EXCLUSIVE: Second Teaser For Upcoming Aussie Neo-Giallo Feature SORORAL
Here's the exclusive second teaser for Sororal, Australia's first neo-giallo feature from the creative team at Nakatomi Pictures.
Titled 'Visions,' the new teaser is "a tantalising sample of the terror that grips the film's heroine Cassie without warning. The murderous visions themselves are disturbing images but even more frightening is their irresistible power to seize her violently at any moment. Cassie is a hostage to these terrifying visions, forced to witness a killer's bloodlust without the capacity to disconnect from, or 'un-see' these brutal killings."
Director Sam Barrett is fond of the psychic captive concept. "The psychic witness is something we borrowed and re-mixed from several sources. Bava's The Girl Who Knew Too Much, Don't Look Now and Eyes of Laura Mars all played a part in the genesis of Cassie's curse," says Barrett. "There is something so deliciously tragic about being forced to watch horrific acts of murder. Cassie is powerless to stop the visions and it is that terrible sense that fuels her need to stop the killer at all costs. The lurid giallo aesthetic is used to pull the audience into Cassie's distorted world; it is like we've been dragged into one of her paintings."
Cassie is played by talented Perth actress Amanda Woodhams, who has showcased her versatility with her casting alongside Toni Collette and Liev Schreiber in Mental, the new Australian comedy from PJ Hogan (Muriel's Wedding, My Best Friend's Wedding).
Sororal is due for completion in December this year. Regular updates can be found on the film's official Facebook page.
