THE GREAT BEAR Director Esben Toft Jacobsen Prepares To Travel BEYOND BEYOND
Denmark's Esben Toft Jacobsen had remarkable success with last year's debut feature, Berlin-selected children's fantasy The Great Bear. And so it comes as no surprise that Jacobsen is teaming up with production house Copenhagen Bombay once again for a sophomore effort.
Though there has not been a synopsis released yet, Jacobsen's second film has been announced as part of the selection at Cartoon Movie, an annual production market for European animation. Titled Beyond Beyond the images released make it abundantly clear that Jacobsen intends to stay within the children's fantasy world and while these are almost certainly pieces of concept art there is a very, very large part of me hoping that Jacobsen and Copenhagen Bombay will embrace this exact style for the final film. Because these images are simply gorgeous to look at.
