Toei Animation has announced that Keiichi Sato (
Tiger & Bunny,
Karas) will handle the directorial duties for the CG film adaptation of Masami Kurumada's mythological fantasy manga
Saint Seiya (aka
Knights of the Zodiac) while Satoshi Suzuki (
Rokku: Wanko no shima,
The Incite Mill) will write the screenplay. Along with this announcement, the first promo artwork with a shot of Pegasus Seiya has been revealed at the
official site but the
teaser trailer that was release back in February of last year has been removed since it appears outdated. According to the press release, the goal is to reboot the origin story to draw up new possibilities.
No specific release date has been confirmed but its "coming soon". More details as we get'em.
