Muddled New Trailer For Tarsem's IMMORTALS
Widely regarded as one of the finest pure visual directors in the world today on the back of a staggering body of commercial and music video work, Tarsem Singh makes his return to the world of big Hollywood filmmaking with Immortals. Singh's first big picture since The Cell is the hyper-stylized story of Theseus and the general thinking is that if Singh can't put gods and monsters on screen in convincing fashion then maybe nobody can.

I'm not convinced.

A new trailer for the film released earlier today and it's a decidedly lackluster affair, one that is maddeningly inconsistent and driven by the need to spoon feed the narrative to its audience. Most surprising though is that for every amazing visual - and there are several - there is a correspondingly shoddy piece of digital background work or a costume that appears both plastic and very, very silly.

Welcome back to the bigs, Tarsem, but unless the finished film is a good step up from this your stay may not be a long one, upcoming Snow White movie or not. Check the trailer below.
