Dustin Nguyen Stars In Vietnamese Thriller GIUA HAI THE GIOI

While The Rebel may not have changed Dustin Nguyen's life, it certainly changed his career. Despite a long and successful career playing support parts in Hollywood - he got his first really big boost as a regular on 21 Jump Street - Nguyen hit the undeniable Hollywood glass ceiling decades ago and had to stew in the fact that Asians simply don't become stars in Hollywood because nobody ever writes decent roles for them.

Then the industry in Vietnam opened up after years of government control and the brother duo of Charlie and Johnny Nguyen - no relation - cast Dustin as the lead villain in their martial arts breakout hit The Rebel. and while Hollywood had largely ignored him for years, Vietnam sat up and asked "Who's that guy?"

Nguyen is now a major star in Vietnam, where he takes lead roles in many of the nation's biggest films and is quickly establishing himself as a major producer as well.

Nguyen's next major role comes in Giua Hai The Gioi, a supernatural thriller due for release in July. As always with Vietnamese pictures, information in English is hard to come by but the premise seems clear enough, with Nguyen and his young wife moving into a new home only to discover that they're not the only ones there.
