OLIVER SHERMAN Opens, KURONEKO Stalks Vancouver
Back in September we reviewed Ryan Redford's excellent debut feature, Oliver Sherman.  Having since picked up a few awards, including a nod from the ever-adventurous Festival du nouveau cinéma in Montreal, the film will open in Toronto on February 4, in Vancouver on February 18, and in Ottawa on February 25.  Catch it if you can - the film features great performances from Garret Dillahunt ("No Country for Old Men"), Molly Parker ("Deadwood") and Donal Logue ("Zodiac").  The trailer can be found here.

Fans of classic Japanese horror in Vancouver can also look forward to a limited run of a new 35mm print of Kaneto Shindo's 1968 samurai ghost story Kuroneko (Black Cat).  It runs February 3 to 6 at Pacific Cinematheque.
