A second directorial project for Japanese action star Tak Sakaguchi!

No one is going to call Tak Sakaguchi a slouch and it is not because we’re scared that he’s going to kick the piss out of us. We can take him. But, we only just announced his first directorial role last month with Sakigake!! Otokojuku. Now comes word of a second film the ‘Versus’ star will helm. So far the movie has no title but it is being described as a "very brutal action horror" flick.

We do know that Japanese comedian Yakkun Sakurazuka has been given his first starring role in a movie. From reports he is best known for his cross-dressing Sukeban Kyoko character. Okay. Thankfully, and I think the testosterone charged Sakaguchi may have had something to say about this, he will play a regular male role for the film. The man who helped bring our attention to Sakaguchi, Ryuhei Kitamura, who is well-known around these parts for his frustrating action films, is producing the film and he selected Sakurazuka for the role.

Sakigake!! Otokojuku must have finished filming because this untitled “very brutal action horror” is supposed to begin filming this month, with a theatrical release sometime in 2008. You know, because there are only six or seven weeks left in 2007. That kind of makes sense. Kitamura plans to open in the U.S. as well.
