Line-Up Announced for New York Korean Film Festival 2007 (August 19 – September 2)

The Korea Society will be presenting its 7th edition of the New York Korean Film Festival from August 19 through September 2. Events planned include a screening of 15 contemporary Korean films, a 5-film retrospective of director Im Kwon-taek, 7 horror films presented by Tartan Asia Extreme, and a short film festival. Also announced are appearances by directors Kim Yong-hwa (200 Pound Beauty) and Lee Jun-ik (King and the Clown), who are expected to attend an opening party at SOL (West 29th street, open to the public) and who will be on hand for Q&A sessions after the screening of their films. This year's panel discussion will be about the Hallyu wave phenomenon. Screenings will take place at Cinema Village, the IFC Center, the BAM cinématek and BAM Rose Cinemas.
