'Saw' Extreme on UK DVD Update
Word has it that "Saw III" is being released in the UK with an "Extreme Edition" Region 2 DVD. No word yet on any sort of extras, but judging by the specs I viewed, there doesn't seem to be any hope for people seeking interviews, or featurettes.
"Saw III" survived with me, only because of the engrossing relationship between Amanda and Jigsaw who reminded me an awful lot of Joker and Harley Quinn a la "Batman," and by the climax, we saw she was just a puppet in his hands.
How they plan to expand on this series beyond the awfully final climax, is beyond me, but "Saw III" still grossed good numbers, the numbers were pleasing enough to garner more sequels, including one coming this years on Halloween.
"Saw III" picks up immediately after "Saw II" where Amanda is now Jigsaw's second in command. Bousman and co. set out to cut off ties to plots and characters in this installment, while Amanda and her mentor kidnap a brain surgeon who has to ease his swelling without killing. If he dies, her collar goes boom, and her head goes pop.
