It's a good time to be Joe Carnahan. Thanks to the success of The Grey, Carnahan is arguably in the best position of his career to launch the projects he wants to make and he has been taking advantage. Back in January word came out that Carnahan would write and direct a reboot of Charles Bronson classic Death Wish. And a little earlier in that same month - while on the press tour for The Grey - he spilled word of a passion project that he was hoping to get off the ground.
Titled Continue, Carnahan described the project then as an action movie spin on Groundhog Day. The story follows a former soldier forced to re-live the same day over and over while on the run from assassins trying to kill him for reasons unknown.
It's a great premise and one that would obviously play to Carnahan's strengths. And apparently the powers that be at 20th Century Fox feel the same way as ScreenAnarchy has just learned that they have taken the project on and it will be moving ahead at the studio.
There is no start date scheduled as of yet and no firm cast, though we're hearing that Carnahan hopes to reunite with his The Grey star Frank Grillo.
