Teaser Trailer for Jeethu Joseph's film OOZHAM: a time whose film has come

Jeethu Joseph’s 2013 film Drishyam (“Visual”) caused a sensation in the Malayalam film industry (from the state of Kerala in the south of India) when it became a smashing box office success – it managed to revive the flagging career of Complete Actor Mohanlal and its box office record take of over 60 crore rupees remains unbeaten.  It went on to remakes in four other Indian languages, including a Tamil version, Papanasam (“Destruction of Sins”) starring Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan and directed by Joseph himself.

After a brief foray into the coming-of-age genre with popular comedian Dileep in 2015’s Life of Josutty, Joseph is back with his Memories star Prithviraj (who is coming off a string of hit films in the last year) in a revenge drama (with a small side of thriller), Oozham (“Time” or “Turn”).  The supporting cast includes newcomer Rasna Pavithram, as well as Balachandra Menon, Kishor Satya, Irshad and Neeraj Madhav (who played the role of Georgekutty’s assistant in Drishyam).

It remains to be seen if Jeethu Joseph can recreate the magic he made with Drishyam, but the teaser trailer for Oozham is packed with the elements that made Drishyam a success.

Oozham is currently scheduled to release on September 8th, 2016, just ahead of the Onam festival, a popular movie season in the state of Kerala.
