Making A Promo: A Peek at Ne'er Do Well Films' 12

The Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival begins next week, and alongside it, the Frontieres Market. This co-production market, focused on genre film, will bring twenty productions from the likes of Can Evrenol (Baskin), Amy Darling (Violent), Alexandre Phiippe (Doc of the Dead), and Larry Fessenden (Wendigo), among others.

One of the participating production companies, Ne'er Do Well Films, will be there with their first feature project, 12. Written and directed by Evrim Ersoy, and produced by James Pearcey, Russell Would, Katherine O'Shea and Nicole McControversy, it tells the story of two cops who destroy their lives in one night, in pursuit of an elusive criminal. They recently shot promotional footage for the Market, and have released a "making of' to give a sneak peek of the promo.

They've also released a video they made of their use of 35mm for their recent short Abdullah, which played at several festivals in 2015, including FrightFest, and Fantastic Fest.

Pearcey says, 'We are very excited to be able to release these behind-the-scenes videos which should help demystify some of the questions surrounding indie productions shooting on film. We love working with 35mm and find it not only efficient and cost-effective but also the right tool for the projest we have in mind."

Indeed, it's great to see that 35mm is not only still being used in indie film, but used well. Check out both videos below!
