LOVE/ME/DO Trailer Tests The Boundaries Of Trust And Crime
Raindance Film Festival kicks off next week with a wide array of features and shorts. Among the films in competition for Best UK Feature is the thriller Love/Me/Do, the first fiction feature by Martin Stitt. A veteran of both actual wars and the war that is the financial world, Stitt started in filmmaking about 10 years ago, and his shorts have played some big festivals, including Sundance and Venice.

For his first foray into a longer fiction film, Stitt entered that land mine-laden world of love and sex, and how trust can be found through good deeds, but perhaps as often, through bad ones. Antonia (Sarah Calder, Youth), an investment banker with a troubled past, and Max (Jack Gordon, Northern Soul), an out-of-work actor, are an odd pair of lovers. As they get closer, Antonio asks Jack to help her seek revenge, and Max might be all too willing to comply.

The trailer, embedded below, is nicely creepy and subtle, giving the barest hints of the couple's intentions towards each other and others to whom they might do harm. Do they trust each other enough to commit evil deeds, or does that trust come from the act itself? Does love bring out the best in each other, or the worst? And if it's the worst, does that make the bond stronger?

The film premieres on Saturday September 26th in the evening, full details in the link below.
