GHOST SHARK 2: URBAN JAWS - Kiwi Indie Horror Comedy Comes To VOD
A sequel to the non-existent Ghost Shark 1: Port Massacre, the film follows the efforts of Auckland's beleaguered mayor, Jack Broody (Campbell Cooley) when bodies start dirtying up his precious city and all indicators point to the return of the insidious Ghost Shark - a terrifying carnivorous predator capable of travelling through water, ice and even steam!
Three different packages are available via digital download platform VHX, and pre-orders will also receive a copy of the film's original soundtrack - which is well worth purchasing on its own - thrown in for free!
I was lucky enough to see Ghost Shark 2 earlier this year and it proves a hilarious and inventive treat that surpasses its meagre budgetary trappings to deliver a thoroughly entertaining feature that should prove a killer calling card for the talents behind it.

Directors Andrew Todd and Johnny Hall, respectively a writer and web designer by day, first ventured into the world of Ghost Shark 2: Urban Jaws in 2010 with a faux trailer that gained moderately significant viral and press attention. That traction prompted the pair to turn their idea into a no-budget feature, which became a five-year labour of love, sweat, and tears. Making Ghost Shark 2: Urban Jaws proved their friendship, taught them much about filmmaking and themselves, and resulted in a "really f***ing weird" film.Ghost Shark 2: Urban Jaws was written and directed by Andrew Todd and Johnny Hall in New Zealand. The cast includes Campbell Cooley, Johnny Hall, Steve Austin, Kathleen Burns, and Roberto Nascimento, with cameo appearances from David Farrier (3 News NZ) and Juliette Danielle (The Room). It has a New Zealand rating of M for nudity, offensive language, and sexual content. This production pre-dates and has no connection to the 2013 television movie Ghost Shark.
