2013 Gold Coast Film Festival Boasts Strong Line-up Including The World Premiere of THE GARDEN OF WORDS
It looks certain that anime and film lovers will have a great time at the upcoming Gold Coast Film Festival (GCFF), which will be running from April 18 - 28. This year, the Festival will host the World Premiere of The Garden of Words, the latest film from acclaimed anime director Shinkai Makoto (5 Centimeters Per Second, Children Who Chase Lost Voices). Shinkai will be attending the Festival to present his film and meet with fans.
Shinkai said, "I am extremely proud to be presenting the World Premiere of my latest film The Garden of Words at the Gold Coast this month. The Gold Coast Film Festival has been such a great supporter of my films, as have my Australian fans, and it is with this gesture of bringing the World Premiere down under ahead of the film's premiere here in Japan that I say 'thank you'."
Alongside The Garden of Words, the GCFF will also be screening the acclaimed Wolf Children from director Mamoru Hosoda and the second part of the Berserk trilogy - Berserk: The Golden Age Arc 2 - The Battle for Doldrey (Australian premiere).
The Opening Film of the Gold Coast Film Festival will be the sci-fi comedy The History of Future Folk and the Closing Night Film will be the horror film Evil Dead. The rest of the program is equally impressive and will surely please movie lovers.
