First Images From Miranda Bowen's GOZO

Don't let the presence of Mum & Dad director Steven Shiel as a writer - or the fact that I've chosen the most ominous still of the lot to run at the top of this, for that matter - steer you wrong. Though definitely edging up on the horror world Miranda Bowen's upcoming Gozo is probably not what you think, Bowen instead offering a very meditative take on grief and the ghosts of the past.

Lucille and Joe have moved to Gozo, a tiny island in the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Malta. They have a nice car, a steady income, a beautiful farmhouse with breathtaking views and a swimming pool. They seem to have it all. But when a young tourist goes missing on the island, Joe's disquieted conscience begins to get the better of him. As the buried horrors of Lucille and Joe's past resurface, the cracks begin to show in their homespun paradise.
Shot entirely on location in the Mediterranean with a cast anchored by Joseph Kennedy (Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll) and Ophelia Lovibond (Nowehere Boy, Chatroom, Mr Popper's Penguins) this promises to be one of the more unique genre pictures of recent years. Check out a gallery of images below.
