Aaron Kwok Returns In Oxide Pang's THE DETECTIVE 2! And He Moves Up A Grade!

When Oxide Pang's The Detective - possibly the best of Pang's solo films - was initially announced it was as The C+ Detective. Because, you know, the detective in question wasn't very good. It was a funny little device that set the tone for a solid performance by Aaron Kwok as the titular detective Tam in what amounted to a quality little pot boiler. It was as if Pang had been reading a bunch of dime store pulp novels and worked a bit of that feel into the film and it ended up being better than anyone really expected it to be.
Well, Tam is back and having survived his last adventure he now gets bumped up a grade. Good for you, Tam! The mystery in question this time revolves around a serial killer and, once again, the pulpy vibe is intact.
