Polish Gangster Comedy WEEKEND Scores One Of The Best Local Openings Ever
Veteran Polish actor Cezary Pazura - known best internationally for his part in Three Colors: White - may want to stick with this directing thing.

After an acting career that spans more than two decades Pazura has stepped into the director's chair for the first time with Weekend, a gangster comedy laced with a liberal dose of parody and slapstick. And it appears safe to say he learned a thing or two after spending all of those years on set as the film opened to over 275K admissions on it's opening weekend, a pace that puts it in the top ten Polish releases of the past decade.

Though I don't know that the film will draw much attention internationally it is clearly a breath of fresh air for film fans in Poland. Check the trailer below.
