Ryu Seung-Wan's Timeless is Online!
The wait for Ryu Seung-Wan's 내가 집행한다 (I Enforce) has been much too long already, but just to placate that thirst, Chungmuro's Action Kid has been active elsewhere. First it was by directing tourism ads in China, and now a bonafide online short for Motorola, entitled Timeless. Produced to promote the release of their new model MOTO Klassic, the short will be directed by Ryu and star his regular partner in crime, action maestro Jung Doo-Hong, alongside Kane Kosugi. The good news? It will not feature a single second of CG. Old school action, folks.
The story goes something like this: Jung and Kosugi were respectively master and student at a stunt school, but they get to meet again after a long time to shoot an action film. Old school master Jung is disappointed once he discovers his young pupil has been squandering all the valuable techniques he taught him, by letting CG walk the walk. So, what else, angst ensues. People get hurt. And stuff. The film will have a press screening tomorrow, after which (I suppose) we'll get some more trailers, and the real deal on the Korean Motorola website. If it pops up anywhere online, we'll be there to find it. In the meantime, here's a quirky appetizer.
