The Many Faces Of Peter Stormare

This week 22 Jump Street premieres (you can read Jason's review here), starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. Stars are nothing without a good villain, though, and here we have Swedish actor Peter Stormare as a drug dealer called "The Ghost".

With his blunt, hulkish looks, Peter Stormare is often typecast as a soulless monster. Or a hysterical one, eating the scenery. Or just a blunt person with a rude exterior but a heart of gold. Or a sensitive neighbor. Or...

Ehm... that's not really typecasting, is it? It's also not fair to say he's mostly chosen for his memorable appearance, as he is attached to a surprising number of animations and videogames as a voice-actor. A jack-of-all-trades, clearly, as long as acting is involved.

Therefore, once again here is a gallery of twelve close-ups of one of our favorite thespians to make a quiz. Click through the images below, and guess which twelve movies they're from. No competition, no prizes, just for fun, try to see how far you get without using IMDb.

And I'll post the answers on Thursday, unless someone names them all correctly...

Kurt Halfyard and Todd Brown contributed to this story.

And here he is in 22 Jump Street.

This shot doesn't count yet as part of the quiz, but all the others do. So browse the slides and see how many you recognize!

I knew it had to be another Terry Gilliam film.

  • Ard Vijn

Is the correct answer, well spotted!
Gilliam was going to be my hint if this hadn't been guessed this weekend, but you were too fast.

  • Cutshaw

    1.Jurassic Park 3
    2.Minority Report
    3.Big Lebowski
    4.The Brothers Grimm
    7.Small Town Murder Songs

All correct except JURASSIC PARK 3. Very good!
The elusive number 11 is a cameo, and will be a challenge...

  • Frank Dupont

    6 (or 7). Constantine?

  • Ard Vijn

Correct! Six, appropriately (he does play Lucifer The Beast, after all).
One of my favorite on-screen representations of the devil.

  • Pat

I totally agree!! BEST SATAN EVER!!! Al Pacino was very good too.

  • Frank Dupont

And the second time I had to guess this movie on Twitch in a very short time.

  • Ard Vijn

Hahaha yes, I noticed that too.

  • James Coll

Fun fact - he's best friends with Stellan Skarsgard even though he's Christian, and Skarsgard is a devout Atheist.

I think you skipped Dancer in the Dark did you? Maybe thats no.8.

  • Ard Vijn

Alas, no DANCER IN THE DARK in this quiz, although it is indeed an omission.

  • Johan Bergkvist

    2. Jurasic Park 3
    3. Minority report
    4. Big lebowski
    5. The brothers Grim.
    6. Marianne
    11. Fargo
    12.Tai Chi Hero

  • Ard Vijn

Your numbering is off (your 1 seems to be our 22 JUMP STREET pic), but I see a lot of correct titles.JURASSIC PARK 3 is wrong though.

  • Johan Bergkvist

Aaa, yes of course my misstake, yes I wasn't sure about the Jurrasic park one is it 2?

  • Ard Vijn

Number 1 is indeed number 2 and not number 3!

  • 2. Minority Report
    3. The Big Lebowski
    4. The Brothers Grimm
    12. Tai Chi Hero

  • Ard Vijn

All Correct, well done! Seven left...

  • I like Stormare, but I missed a lot of his movies

Number 10: Fargo (yes, the easy one...)

  • Ard Vijn

Correct! One down, eleven to go...

  • Ard Vijn

Heh, he looks a lot like Billy Connolly in that first shot.

Warning though, people: my guess is this is one of the most difficult quizzes we've put up here yet...
