The original Flower and Snake has acheived pretty much legendary status in pinku / exploitation circles so I'm more than a little surprised that I hadn't seen word of the upcoming sequel until now. The Gomorrahizer just dropped me a note with extensive links and a translated synopsis. The official website for Flower and Snake 2: Paris/Shizuko has replaced the one for Flower and Snake (Hana to hebi) at http://www.hanatohebi-movie.com/main.html . As was the case with Flower and Snake, Ishii wrote the screenplay for this film - based on a novel by Oniroku Dan - and directed it. Shot in France, the film stars Aya Sugimoto as Shizuko Tôyama (she played a different character with the same name in Flower and Snake), Jô Shishido as Shizuko's husband Takayoshi Tôyama, an art critic who's 35 years her senior (Shishido's 34 1/2 years older than Sugimoto), and Ken'ichi Endô as Ikegami, a Parisian artist.
