BRITISH INTERNET SENSATION ‘NUDINITS’ TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING AT AFM
The British Animation Company Woolly Vision’s short film ‘nudinits – Tickled Pink, an Official Selection in the Animated Film category at this year’s LaFemme International Film Festival, will be up for grabs at the American Film Market, November 2 -9th in Santa Monica, as an expanded series.
Tickled Pink, hailed as a new “Wallace & Gromit”, is a stop motion animation and features the residents of Woolly Bush, a village in a cozy corner of England. On the surface it’s all very traditional, tea with the vicar and talking about the weather only there’s a surprise in store – all the inhabitants are in the nude! Replete with carefully placed nightsticks and cactuses, the dialogue is chock full of ribald wordplay that definitely makes it far ruder than knitting has ever been before!
Already a huge success online and having scooped a Best Comedy Award at London's Portobello Film Festival, nudinits is the world's first comedy in which all the characters and props have been entirely knitted by hand. The project is the brainchild of writer and designer Sarah Simi, who explains: "I came up with the idea of an entirely knitted world and thought it would make a great animation. So I collaborated with animator Ed Hartwell and together we have made this film.”
In addition to the episodes, the merchandise from the series is flying off the shelves, such as greeting cards, calendars and a book of knitting patterns. All can be purchased on their website at www.nudinits.com.
