Shudder Expanding to Canada This Fall

Great news, horror fans. Scary streaming service Shudder will expand to Canada this fall! Canucks who visit Shudder.com are treated to a message asking for their email address to sign up for invite-only access.

Shudder made waves when it launched in 2015, positioning itself as a service that relied less on algorithms and more on expert curation by actual horror experts. The experts behind that curation are TIFF programmer Colin Geddes, and once Fangoria managing editor Sam Zimmerman.

Shudder's sub-genre categories are also known for being hyper-specific, so you are sure to find something you'll love.

Some examples include:

In terms of content, it will be interesting to see what titles we're able to get in Canada and how they will differ from Shudder's US catalogue. Even streaming giants like Netflix get their fair share of entitled idiots criticizing the scope of films available in different territories, so Shudder should be prepared to fend those people off with a big stick. Just remember, the more people who sign up, the more resources are availble to purchase rights.

More as it comes, folks!
