COCK AND BULL: Watch The Slick Trailer For Liu Ye Anchored Crime Comedy

Chinese superstar Liu Ye anchors the cast of Baoping Cao's upcoming crime comedy Cock And Bull. And true to the title this one appears to be a fairly silly affair, the sort of dark comedy that wouldn't be entirely out of place in the Coen Brothers' catalog.

Finding an even remotely coherent English synopsis for this one is proving difficult but the story revolves around a tow truck driver in a rural community in western China caught up in the swirling chaos around a murder.

Building a comedy around a killing is not a simple thing in China, where the censorship laws put strict limits around how crime and its consequences can and cannot be portrayed on screen but this looks to be a really slick, polished and entertaining affair and the entire cast - Zhang Yi, Duan Bowen, and Fiona Wang also star - are clearly up to the challenge.
