TV Producer Aron Coleite Next in Line to Adapt Graphic Novels AMULET
Deadline reported yesterday that producer Aron Coleite - Star Trek and Heroes TV shows - is going to write a new adaptation of a 'Japanese' graphic novel, Amulet.

The original was written and illustrated by Kazu Kibuishi and published by Sholastic. The series has run nearly at a novel per year since 2008.

Deadline calling it 'Japanese' almost seems like a misnomer. Sure, Kibuishi is Japanese but the graphic novels are written in English and published by Scholastic, an American publisher of educational materials. Do they still run book orders at grade schools these days? I do not have kids but that is the only thing I remember Sholastic for.
Amulet is a graphic novel series illustrated and written by Kazu Kibuishi. The series follows the adventures of Emily Hayes, who after moving to their great-grandfather’s house in the town of Norlen, discovers and wears the magical amulet that uses magical powers. After entering the fictional world of Alledia with her younger brother, Navin and their mother, Karen, they befriend the allies and set off to defeat the villainous Elf King.
The adaptation was recently connected with Will Smith and Warner Bros. Smith's kids, Willow and Jaden, were attached to star. Is that the collective sigh of relief of fans of the original novels I hear?
