If you have not yet seen the utter genius that was the TV sketch comedy series Key and Peele, do yourselves a favour and find it as soon as possible. It was one of the funniest and most daring shows of recent years, taking on everything from racism to sexism to black culture to gay culture to even the most banal of bodily functions. Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele might have exited TV after five amazing seasons, but lucky for us, they are back with a film.
And doesn't the first trailer for their film Keanu look pretty outstandingly funny (and yes, they are riffing on John Wick). A lot of their work from the series can be seen here (from inside jokes about how African Americans talk to each other, to seeming too 'white', to obsessions over love and cats), so hopefully this will not be just a 'best of the favourite gags' from the show. Key and Peele are amazing performers, both seperately and together, and their open love for horror and action films give me hope and high expectations. The film is due for release in the US on April 22, and the trailer (definitely NSFW) is below.
