KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE: The First Teaser And New Poster Arrive!
How will the Shimizu Takashi live action adaptation of Kadono Eiko's popular Kiki's Delivery Service children's novels  play out on the big screen? The tale of a young witch living on her own for the first time and making a living by operating a flying parcel delivery service has a huge following around the world thanks to the Miyazaki Hayao directed animated adaptation of the first book in the series and so anticipation has been running high for the live action take - an adaptation of the first two novels - and after a series of stills from the set a new poster and the first teaser have now arrived.

And? She's smiley. Jiji the cat is still around and still black. And there will be flying. Beyond that, we still know pretty much nothing. The teaser is very much a tease stringing together text and flight sequences and little else. Take a look for yourself below.

Erm, not much of a teaser, is it? Not a single shot of actual footage. Has production on this even started yet?

Ages ago. In fact production is probably done at this point. We've run a bunch of stills.

I was at a talk with Shimizu Takashi last week and he said production has finished. He also showed a slightly longer teaser with some actual footage! Kiki lands her broom in a schoolyard and gives a book to a couple of children...

Well, I am looking forward to the first proper trailer.

Really bad promotional material to sell your film.
