First BESHARAM Trailer Shows Ranbir Kapoor With Charm To Spare
I'm going to be honest here. Besharam is probably not terribly Twitchy material. However, I have really grown to like Ranbir Kapoor as a performer, and his goofball act here looks right up my alley. After his amazing silent performance in Barfi! (a film that I feel has been unfairly railroaded after the initial flood of good reviews), I'm game for whatever Kapoor has up his sleeve.

Also of interest in Besharam is the return of Abhinav Kashyap to the director's chair. That name could sound familiar for a couple of reasons. The first, and probably the one he'd like you to connect, is that Abhinav Kashyap directed Salman Khan's 2010's record-breaking comeback film, Dabangg. He hasn't directed anything in the interim, presumably spending his time off swimming through piles of money like Scrooge McDuck. The second reason the name might sound familiar is that he shares a family name with big brother Anurag Kashyap, who is almost single-handedly holding the entire Indian independent film community up where the world can see them through his own films and those produced by his AKFPL production company.

Dabangg was an old-school masala entertainer. Lots of punchy dialogue, over the top, physics-defying action, and goofball songs. Besharam (Shameless) looks like an old school zany comedy, complete with plenty of sight gags and funny outfits, and I'm okay with that. Here's what the official synopsis has to say about the film:
Babli (Ranbir Kapoor) is a street smart car mechanic living in a Delhi orphanage. He is charming and lives life to the fullest. He also steals cars to support his orphanage. He has no sense of right or wrong till he unwittingly hurts the love of his life, Tara (Pallavi Sharda) and is chased by cop couple Chulbul Chautala (Rishi Kapoor) and Bulbul Chautala ( Neetu Kapoor). Babli realizes that there is no right way of doing the wrong thing. Babli sets out to fix all the wrongs in his life and he continues to be shameless about it.
