CONFIRMED: Mark Wahlberg Takes The Lead In TRANSFORMERS 4
It was back on October 22nd that ScreenAnarchy broke word that Michael Bay had engaged in very early talks with Mark Wahlberg to take the lead in the upcoming Transformers 4. It was a story that Bay would deny the next day, claiming he was talking with Wahlberg about a different, as yet unspecified project. But given that Bay had previously publicly denied both the presence of Megatron in Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and that he would direct Transformers 4 at all, and that our sources on this story had proven out completely reliable in the past, we remained completely confident.

And earlier today it was confirmed by Michael Bay himself: Mark Wahlberg has officially signed to take the lead in Transformers 4. Ehren Kruger - also responsible for the second and third installments in the series - is again penning the script, one that we are hearing will revolve around an adult star (now confirmed as Wahlberg) and his teenage child with the idea being that the child would then grow to be the focus of subsequent entries in the series.
