Michael Bay Says It's Not TRANSFORMERS 4, Confirms He's Talking To Mark Wahlberg About New Film
UPDATE: Michael Bay says that it's not Transformers 4 but confirms he is talking to Mark Wahlberg about a new film project. Of course, he also said Megatron wouldn't be in Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. And that he wouldn't make Transformers 4 at all. Original story below.

Though things are still very much in early days and there is a good road to go down before anything is official, ScreenAnarchy has learned that Michael Bay is having early conversations with Mark Wahlberg to star in the upcoming, Paramount backed Transformers 4.

Should things work out it's a move that makes perfect sense on multiple levels. First, Wahlberg is one of the most reliable action stars in Hollywood right now, riding a string of consistent hits. He also brings a sort of grounded everyman feel to his characters that will serve the franchise well. Bluntly, every major franchise with a male, action oriented lead brings up Wahlberg at some point of the process. But, more to the point, Wahlberg and Bay just worked together on low budget body building drama Pain And Gain, also for Paramount, so the two already have a well established working relationship.

Ehren Kruger - also responsible for the second and third installments in the series - is again penning the script, one that we are hearing will revolve around an adult star (the part being discussed with Wahlberg) and his teenage child with the idea being that the child would then grow to be the focus of subsequent entries in the series.

More as things develop.
