TIFF 2012: SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK Leads Award Winners
As the Toronto International Film Festival draws to a close and our weary team will return to their homes, families and regular day jobs tomorrow the festival announced the award winners.

The People's Choice trophy went to David O. Russell's Silver Lining Playbook. The film stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, along with Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles and Chris Tucker among others. This prize usually leads to a strong run to the Oscars as it had for previous winners like Slumdog Millionaire, The Kings Speech and American Beauty.

The most popular choice among Midnight Madness attendees was Martin McDonagh's Seven Psychopaths. You can read Todd's review of the film here.

On the home front the winner for favorite Canadian feature went to Xavier Dolan's Laurence Anyways. And favorite Canadian first feature was shared between Jason Buxton's Blackbird and Brandon Cronenberg's Antiviral (Brian's review here).
