Calvin Reeder's THE RAMBLER Begins Production Sunday, April 15
I will never forget the night when, as a festival programmer, I first unleashed Calvin Lee Reeder's short film The Rambler onto a paying audience. There was squirming in seats, nervous laughter, outright confusion, revulsion, shock and outbursts of spontaneous applause. It was perfect. Exactly what you want to do to a midnight audience. And I knew - or at least hoped an awful lot - that we'd be seeing more from Reeder in the coming years.

And we have. More shorts followed and Reeder made his feature debut at Sundance 2011 with The Oregonian before making cameos as an actor in both You're Next and V/H/S. And now he's headed back behind the camera with a long gestating feature version of The Rambler.

Bloody Disgusting broke word today that principal photography will commence April 15th in Roswell, New Mexico with Dermot Mulroney and regular Reeder lead Lindsay Pulsipher starring.

After being released from prison, a man known as The Rambler (Dermont) stumbles upon a strange mystery as he attempts a dangerous journey through treacherous back roads and small towns en route to reconnecting with his long lost brother.

XYZ Films (where I'm a partner so, yes, bias, blah blah blah), Brooklyn Reptyle and AKA Pictures produce with Celluloid Nightmares handling international sales.
