The official site for Aaron Sims' sci-fi short Archetype has been updated with the online premiere of the 7-minute film. As mention before in our previous post, Sims is a veteran creature/concept designer with a prolific resume in some of the biggest summer blockbuster including the recent Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and The Thing. The passion project by the visionary artist is produced through his own company and stars Robert Joy (Land of the Dead, CSI:NY) and David Anders (Heros, 24). Compare with other spectacular visual effects films from major studio in Hollywood, the eye candy holds up fairly strong with just only a fraction of the budget. It seems like the ending is a prelude to a possible story expansion in a feature length version.
