Sundance 2010: Watch Animated Short OLD FANGS Now!!
This year the Sundance Festival is experimenting heavily with streaming content and online releasing, with a number of festival titles being made available to stream or rent online day-and-date with the festival premieres.  One of the available titles - this one entirely for free - is Adrien Merigeau's Old Fangs.

Sure, this is notable at least in part simply because it's a Sundance film but - beyond that - readers of these pages will be interested to take a look because Merigeau has been tapped as art director for director Tomm Moore's follow up to Secret of Kells, A Song of the Sea. We've said many times in these pages that we consider Moore to be one of the great master animators in the world today so anyone that receives his stamp of approval is immediately worth seeking out.

Check out Old Fangs below.

It's also a production of Cartoon Saloon, one of the studios that contributed to The Secret of Kells and were it originated. Good-quality stills can be found at http://www.cartoonsaloon.ie/index.php/2009/09/short-films and much in-progress art from the making of it at http://oldfangs.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2009-05-26T23%3A21%3A00%2B02%3A00&max-results=7
