Enter the HEART OF NOW

You know, if you're going to cite the likes of Ceylan, the Dardennes, Hou, Kieslowski and Moodyson on your film's website you'd better have some serious chops to back it up. As in some serious chops because anyone who knows enough to recognize and care about those names is not going to be an easy critic to please when you go inviting comparisons to such a stack of acknowledged masters. Well, Heart of Now - a currently in post production feature from the same team behind I Fucking Hate You - does exactly that and it's got the goods to back it up. Here's the synopsis:

“Heart of Now” concerns a young woman (Marion Kerr) with a profound longing for a sense of family. Devastated by her boyfriend’s sudden withdrawal from their relationship, Amber’s circumstance thrusts her back into the presence of the father-figure (Kelly McCracken) that abandoned her and her dying mother nearly a decade ago. Amber confronts the deeper issues at the very heart of her suffering, and finds transcendence in a brief moment at the very heart of now.

There is something labelled a video preview - as opposed to a proper trailer - currently available on the film's website and it is absolutely beautiful stuff. Can't recommend checking this one out strongly enough ...
