Will Smith's "I Am Legend" tops the Japanese box office for a second week while Jon Turteltaub's "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" (in Japan retitled - National Treasure: Lincoln Ansatsusha No Nikki/Dairy of Lincoln's Assassin) makes an impressive debut at number two this week. Several other films also debut including the movie version of the popular Toho anime series "Bleach" (Gekijouban Bleach The Diamond Dust Rebellion - Mohitotsu No Hiyorinmaru), the Disney CGI film "Meet The Robinsons" (in Japan retitled - Louis To Mirai Dorobou/Louis and the Future Bandit), and Harada Masato's latest horror film "Mouryou No Hakou" (Demon Box AKA Shadow Spirit) whose stellar cast includes Abe Hiroshi, Shinohara Ryoko, Tsutsumi Shinichi, Emoto Akira, Tanaka Rena and Shimizu Misa,.

As the final week of 2007 ends, films that will be making their road-show debut in Japan in the opening weeks of 2008 include Yamada Yoji's "Mama Bei" (Dear Mother; 1/26) and Andrew Dominik's "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" (in Japan retitled - Jesse James No Ansatsu; 1/12).
