Tete's short fim 'Fumiko's Confession' impresses!

Impressed as we are with the works of Japanese animation production houses like Production IG and Madhouse sometimes it is the little guys that make the biggest impression of all. Recently we have marveled at the tremendous skills and talents of animators like Makoto Shinkai [5 Centimetres Per Second] and Atsuya Uki [Cencoroll] who have and are bringing us wonderful bits and pieces of animation that they created by themselves.

Now, enter Hiroyasu Ishida aka. Tete, a 21 year old animator who is also doing his own thing and doing it well...

In the short, Fumiko asks a boy to date her, but he refuses, wanting to concentrate on his baseball skills. At the end, she offers to make him miso soup every day (a marriage proposal in Japan), but the result is...

Pretty darn hilarious if you ask me. I didn't know Japan had so much vertical lift to it. That is a long way down.
