Update on Takashi Miike's WARU: FINAL, w/ Shô Aikawa, Keiko Matsuzaka, Kimika Yoshino, Shion Machid

Maki Production (Maki Purodakushon) is tentatively scheduled to release Takashi Miike's Waru: Final theatrically in Japan on February 25th.

The screenplay for Waru: Final was written by Hisao Maki, based on the 3-volume gekiga Waru: saishû-shô (vol. 1, vol. 2, vol. 3) by Maki (story) and Jôya Kagemaru (drawings). The movie's principal cast apparently is as follows: Shô Aikawa, Keiko Matsuzaka, Yoshihiko Hakamada, Nagare Hagiwara, Kimika Yoshino, Kôki Okada, Hideki Sone, Shion Machida, Akira Maeda, Satoru Sayama (a.k.a. Tiger Mask), Johnny Ôkura (Jonî Ôkura), Hikaru Kawamura, Atsuko Sakuraba, Saki Kurihara, Guts Ishimatsu (Gattsu Ishimatsu), Hitoshi Ozawa, Masumi Okada, Ryô Ishibashi, and Maki.

Miike's other upcoming movies include Masters of Horror: Imprint and Big Bang Love, Juvenile A (46-okunen no koi). The latter is based on the novel Shônen A erejî by "Ato Masaki" - a joint pen-name of Maki and his elder brother Ikki Kajiwara (1936-1987).
