Jodie Foster will return to the big screen in Hotel Artemis, written and to be directed by Drew Pearce.
Described as a near-future thriller, Hotel Artemis is set in its "own distinctive crime universe," according to an official statement. Foster will portray a character known as "The Nurse."
Foster has been especially selective about the roles she has played in the last dozen years or so; she last appeared in the sci-fi flick Elysium (2013) opposite Matt Damon. She's focused on directing since then, helming two episodes of Orange Is the New Black and one episode of House of Cards. Most recently, she directed George Clooney and Julia Roberts in Money Monster.
Pearce has established himself as a screenwriter; his credits include Iron Man 3 and Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation. Production company The Ink Factory will produce and finance the project.
